Pietro Canestrelli
Master Circus Instructor

A seventh-generation circus performer, Pietro Canestrelli was born in a caravan wagon in Italy in 1925. The Canestrelli family had a circus in Europe for 50 years. Pietro came to the Unted States and toured with Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey in the mid-1950s, performing with his brother and sister. He met his wife, Joyce (a trapeze artist and dancer), while performing. They went on to raise six children – all of whom, at one time or another, performed with the family act. The Canestrellis was a headlining act in SeaWorld's "City Streets" show

 

 Cheryl Lindley
Aerial Arts

Ms. Lindley explored
commedia dell’ arte in the
1980s and was a member of the Fern Street Circus for 14 years; where she directed the 2004 “Alice in Circusland” and 2005 “Through the Looking Glass” annual showcase productions in San Diego’s Balboa Park. She is the star clown for Imagination Entertainment’s iL CiRco, an award winning special events circus show. Ms. Lindley created a new aerial act for the 2007 Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus.

Rogelio Lopez Diabolo

Mr. Lopez was a member the Fern Street Circus as a
performer and as a vice
president of the Board of
Directors. He is a public
health programs administrator with Health Net of California. He operates the San Diego Pa Kua Kung Fu Academy and is a serious student of diabolo.

Shane Lindley Clown

Shane was with Fern Street Circus for many years; and is a graduate of San Francisco Circus Center. He recently finished the year long 2007 tour with Ringling Brothers & Barnum and Bailey Circus Blue Unit. Shane is a serious student of clowning, the whip and old circus acts for eight-years during 1990s.

Martin Raabe-Lopez Clown, Juggling

Martin attended Canada’s
National Circus School 2005 Summer Camp; is a graduate of San Francisco Circus Center and was with Fern Street Circus for many years. He recently finished the year long 2007 tour with Ringling Brothers & Barnum and Bailey Circus Red Unit. Martin is a serious student of clowning, juggling and music.

Ken Marushige
Juggling

Ken is a long time juggler.
He is a teacher in the San
Diego public schools and has been juggling for many years.

Victoria Costello
contortionist and aerialist.

Toured with Circus Pages Ringling pre show and various corporate gigs for
eight-years during 1990s.

She has performed in Cirque du Soleil's "O" and with Ringling Brothers
  Brandy Wurts a recipient of LA Music Award Life time achievement award for her aerial and circus acts with The Motley Crue World Tour. Ms. Wurts will be teaching aerial class on Wednesday from 5-8pm Sadie Lindley will teach beginning aerial Wednesday 4-5pm Jessica Avila has performed with many circus including Fern Street and Aerial Revelations. Ms Avila will be teaching the Saturday group of classes. She is an enthusiastic instructor versed in aerial arts, tumbling, contortion, hand balancing and cheer.
